I have the idea that Bush left Obama a great deal of financial problems, derived from the war in Iraq. But maybe that's just caused my one side view from Europe.

Bush is just as at fault as Obama. He was a progressivist too. But Obama it taking that opportunity and turning it into almost a monarchy of sorts.


Wilson, Call me nuts now, but in 10 years from now when America is completely and utterly down the shitter, you remember the attitude you had towards our nation now.

I hope to god my "Crazy statments" are wrong, but based off of fact and looking into history, I doubt it.

People need to learn about what it is to be an american and the meaning of "free" and stop taking it for granted like every single US citizen has been for the last 2 decades.

Good example of the BIG blinders the media has put on us.

Remember when exxon / mobil raised prices and got a 45.2 Billion $ profit about a year ago? and the government and country was outraged and the US tried to cap them.

The Federal Reserve has (to this day) made a 56.1 Billion $ PROFIT. Where the outrage? where the coverage? We want to hang the banks and the oil companies for making a profit, but no no no, the Federal Reserve makes a PROFIT of 56.1 BILLION and know one even knows.

These are the people who are running the country right now. 2 of Obamas closest advisors are self proclaimed Socialists. Several others Marksists. But everyone just turns the other way.

I am so amazed of the attitude of the american's replying to this topic. It makes me wonder how I would act if things would go this way in our country.

Wish i could discuss, but i just dont know enough about the american economy, let alone the dutch. Though i have to say that i keep getting kinda pissed off when i hear americans talk about socialism like its some kind of disease.

I understand you have your own view Hooger (on socialism). But you have to understand, America was created to be the ANTI-Socialism country. The principals and laws of the entire country have be designed to STOP exactly what is happening right now.

So even if you did want to argue is socialism good or bad, it is still wrong for america to be a socialist country anyway you look at it.

This is what is wrong with the US right now, example of what I was saying up above.

I'm going to have to disagree with you here. I understand your opinion, but this is a faulty argument. As far as I know, Socialism didn't even EXIST whenthe USA was created, let alone America.
I know you mean that in the US there are a lot of strong anti-communist feelings, mainly because of the cold war, but also from before the 2nd WW. Just saying that you shouldn't use wording that can be easily misinterpreted.

Vailid point Mauw. It wasnt labeled as socialism when america was created. But the gov. was designed to prevent Government take over. To Prevent monarchy and a group of individuals to run the country for themselves.

We are run by the people, for the people. Not by the government for the people.

Not if it's a constitutional monarchy, but yes, it is to replace, rather than prevent a monarchy. Even with an absolute monarchy there is still a governing body who hold some power.

Everyone post in here. If anyone takes anything anyone to heart and takes offense by it gtfo. This is a place to just post about whats going on and our viewpoints. You cannot say anything wrong but just expect an argument ^.^.

I agree with Fay. This country was created to get away from the Goverment having Full and Total over the people. They have the ability to represent the people, the common good, and uphold the laws that The People make. Now as we have grown and as time goes on, the goverement uses that clause of The Common Good and creates a bunch of laws for taxes, invasion of privacy (I dont care if they tap my phone of pc, just saying), and to keep the people supressed. Now I dont mind some taxes but when WE the people have to pay for another company's bail out, out of OUR pockets, I find this retarded.

and I agree wilson, Hoogs, if you want to stick up for socialism go for it XD, please tak no offense to me though, as most Americans probably wont respond much as we are capitalists for the most part lol.

Even if I did abandon all that is "american" and the gov did take over, or even if it was just health care, you have countries who tried a prublic health care system and are laughing at us for even thinking about it it because they know that it doesnt and wont work. My friends grandmother died in England because she needed a major operation, but she was put on a 3 year long waiting list.

Note to mension that EVERY single program the government has ever run in the history of the united states has failed or gone completely bankrupt.


They want to pass the healthcare bill so badly that they are rushing through it. God only knows what could be in the several hundred page long mess they are working on.

They strategy for it to be accepted is to have it passed as a "Public Option".

What happens there is, they pass it, all the people on wealfair and are broke (because of the insane taxes we will be paying do to the several bills they have passed so far) will join it, it will be a very very low price so the average person who wants to save a few ucks will drop their private healthcare, and before you know it, healthcarecompanies cant compete, so we loose thousdands of jobs and all of a sudden the government runs everyones health care.

But all the average idiot thinks is "O, its public option and the guy who has lied to us says we wont have to pay a dime extra even though we are trillions in debt."

I don't think what you guys realize is that there isn't really a right or wrong answer. Like fay was talking about someone's grandmother in England being put on a waiting list because of their healthcare (Seniors will NOT get healthcare in any pubic option) .... well I know somebody who was diagnosed with cancer, could not afford insurance, and could not afford all of the proper treatment and sent his family into bankruptcy before he died. To each point there is an opposite one and it really comes down to whether or not you personally believe in government rooted more on socialism or not.

That being said, while both political parties have really stabbed each other in the back, the far left has really fucked things up beyond recognition and I don't like the direction they are sending the country. If you actually do research (lots of books, not conspiracies or some shit but actual facts) its clear that the let wing stabbed Bush in the back (... he was still an idiot) and fucked up the entire reconstruction of Iraq, rendering the last few years completely pointless. All this was ignored by the liberal media. I don't really trust anyone in the government, it's all a bunch of liars playing the political game.

Career Politician. Those 2 words should never be next to each other but thats what everyone in major positions in office (that were elected) try to be. Very valid points there Cecchi

People need to look past left VS right and start looking up VS down if we want to pull our ass out of the fire.
